Pippns Pre School

Our School

Pippins is a Pre School and our mission is to ensure that each and every child will be surrounded with challenging, stimulating opportunities and experiences to enable them to have fun, whilst learning through play. We will work in partnership with parents, building positive relationships to encourage all children to develop at their own pace to reach their potential. These opportunities and experiences will take place in a safe, caring nurturing, fully inclusive and supportive environment.  You can find more information about our school in the For Parents section.

In the autumn term 2024 we used the theme of autumn for our school board and the children used leaves to make animal pictures such as hedgehogs, turtles, birds and a rabbit, as well as hand-print trees, all inspired by the book Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert.  Our book of the month was Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper, and the children made some pumpkins.

In the spring term 2024 we went to a rescue centre and rescued two male guinea pigs, aged between 15 months and 2 years old.  They live inside the pre-school in a big hutch, and sometimes come out in to a pen in which to play, eat and drink.   Their names, chosen by the children, are Sunny and Cloud.  The children learn to care for them and handle them.

In the summer term 2023 we focused on mini beasts.  We had a butterfly garden set and watched as caterpillars changed into chrysalides and then emerge as beautiful painted lady butterflies.  Below you can see some of the chrysalides and one butterfly – and the orange which is food for the butterfly, as well as some of our mini beast art work.

Our gift to honour Miss Fletcher-Davies leaving South Farnborough Infants School and going on to pastures new.  She planted an apple tree called Christmas Pippin on 18th July 2022 in our outdoor playground and we will think of her every time we harvest the apples, which we will eat on snack bar.

This is how we marked Chinese New Year

In December 2021 we were lucky enough to have been left a Rushmoor Christmas Angel on our post box.
