Welcome to Pippins Pre-School
We are now taking applications for children starting in September 2020. Due to the current situation regarding Covid-19 we are unable to offer show around visits.
During these unprecedented times the setting is not set up as it usually is. We have had to limit resources and split the room into two to accommodate two small groups (bubbles) of children and removed some toys that cannot be easily cleaned (soft toys). We usually have available as part of our continuous provision:
- Home corner
- Maths area
- Book corner
- Physical area (this changes weekly)
- Mark making area – this where all the magic happens
- Construction area
We enhance these areas by adding other resources. We have a free flow system whereby the children choose what they would like to play with. They are encouraged to tidy up the area they have played in before they move into another area. The children can also free flow to our playground where there are always a minimum of two staff present. The continuous provision in the playground:
- Construction area
- Water wall
- Bikes and scooter area
- A wooden castle
- Gardening club
There are smaller resources available to enhance these areas.
We do have toilets accessible for children who are potty trained. We have changing facilities available for those who aren’t. Each child will be allocated a key worker, and a colour group. This will be confirmed to you during the home visit which takes place during term time just before your child is due to start.
If you feel you would like a registration pack, to ensure social distancing these can be left outside for you to collect, please ring ahead to let us know the day and time you want to collect the pack. Once you have completed the registration form please call ahead to arrange the time you will be dropping it off so that we can keep an eye out for it.
Pippins Pre School offers a range of services for children aged 2 years 9 months, we accept the 2 year old funding as well as the 30 hours funding. The setting encourages children to play together and have fun whilst also promoting vital motor skills and communication development. As part of this service, we also provide support for parents to develop the necessary skills to help care for their children and promote their development.
Ofsted graded Pippins Pre-School as Good at our last inspection which was in December 2018.
